Sterling Insurance is proud to announce it has teamed up with a world-famous international youth football tournament, taking place in Northern Ireland.
Our three-year partnership with SuperCupNI begins this summer, with high-profile clubs like Manchester United and Celtic visiting for the prestigious week-long event, beginning on Sunday June 21.
The 2024 SuperCup NI will feature more than 60 teams across five age groups (male and female) at matches across the country. Some of the finest young players in Europe will show off their skills and our general manager can’t wait to take in the action.
Andy Morton said: “We feel proud, and privileged, to have agreed a three-year association with one of the world’s most respected youth football tournaments.
“The SuperCupNI is synonymous with Northern Ireland and brings so much joy and positivity to the country and we’re excited to be part of that, starting this summer.
“Sterling Insurance is here to support the organisers, provide some backing and bring in a few touches that can hopefully add something a little new to the week. We want to enhance the experience where we can and help make more memories.
“There are lots of exciting ideas in the pipeline that we hope to unveil in the coming weeks as we look to give something back and provide an extra platform for the players, organisers and local community.”
SuperCupNI gets ready to welcome the next David Beckham
Some of the finest young players across the world will be strutting their stuff at locations including the Causeway Coast and Glens and Antrim.
The competition, celebrating its 41st year (it was previously known as the Milk Cup), will attract more than 50,000 visitors and up to 2,500 youth footballers. Previous participants include David Beckham and Sergio Busquets, so future stars are to be expected.
“Like every football fan, I know about the competition. I remember reading stories about the clubs who had won the tournament while growing up and am aware of all the famous sides and players who have played here,” added Andy.
“I’ve played football all the way from u10s to Vets. I’m a centre back, an Arsenal fan and love the game so on a personal level, this is such an exciting partnership. The plan is to travel around the country with my wife in a camper van and take in as many games as we can. A holiday, seeing lots of Northern Ireland and football – not a bad mix eh?”
Victor Leonard, the tournament’s chairperson, said he was looking forward to helping “deliver a collaborative and dynamic partnership” and “make a positive impact on communities and youth football in Northern Ireland.”
